You can drive your car with check engine light on, but you never know what damage it can cause to the engine, so better to go for check up at your earliest. It has been seen that if you make delay in repair, the catalytic converter of the car may give you trouble. Keep in mind that check engine light service is not the job of auto parts store. They only can translate trouble codes of the check engine light, they cannot execute repair.
