The Adirondack Mountains are located in the northeastern area of New York State. Unlike other mountain ranges, the Adirondacks do not form a continuous range. Over one hundred summits are created by this geographical aspect of the Adirondack Mountains. The smallest summit is under 1200 feet while the largest summit is over 5000 feet. This exciting feature of the Adirondack Mountains provides visitors with an opportunity to reach endless summits with various heights.
