Normally an iron sheet or a sheet of other popular alloys of iron is bent to form a semi circular shape and it is further with a layer of Zinc or Tin as the case may be to add to the resistance towards getting corroded. This ground breaking merchandise was first erected in a place called Quonset Point in Davisville, a village in Rhode Island. This explains the name of Quonset huts. As it is well known that most famous products are an answer to a need of mankind so was the case with Quonset huts. The Quonset huts were interestingly first developed and used by the USA naval forces which were looking for a product which helped them protect their ammunitions, forces, and other storable items during the second world war.
